Installing the Citrix receiver

  1. Navigate your browser to Apps@UT and log in with your NetID and Password.
  2. Choose Install.
  3. On the Citrix Receiver site, your Operating System will be automatically detected and Citrix will suggest a version of the Receiver for your computer.  You may also view other devices if you are downloading the Receiver to install on another computer.  Follow the instructions on screen to install the Receiver.
  4. Windows: The installer will run; choose OK when complete. 

    Mac: With the disk image mounted, run Install Citrix Receiver.pkg.

    Choose Continue and proceed with the installation.
  5. Once the installer has closed, you may see your browser automatically refresh and bring up the Citrix apps.  If not, choose the Continue button to proceed.
  6. If you are unable to access Apps@UT after installing the Citrix Receiver, reboot your computer. 


Launching an application in Apps@UT


  1. Launch an application with a single-click on the icon in the browser (Windows or Mac users).

      2. Soon after you start an application, you will get a pop-up requesting permission to access your computer’s files.

•   If you are a one-time user, choose Permit use.

•   If you are a recurring user, you can check the box “Do not ask me again for this site.” and then choose Permit use. (Recommended)

•   At no time should you check the box “Do not ask me again for this site.” and then choose Block access.  If you choose Block access, you cannot use this application.

Users can only have one instance of an application running at any time.  If you get an error message, it will clear up when the session is terminated in about an hour.


*Note:  If you are using Firefox and nothing happens when you select a program, do the following:

  1. In the address bar, type about:addons
  2. Navigate to the Plugins section on the left
  3. Set Citrix ICA to "Always Activate"
  4. Close tab and retry.
