What clickers are currently supported at UTK? Beginning fall 2016, UTK supports the ResponseCard devices below, pictured left to right: NXT, NXT2, QT, and QT2. Only the QT2 device is available at the UTK VolShop Bookstore. The other devices are no longer manufactured. However, they will function with your Turning Account license. Where can I purchase a clicker? The clicker devices are available from the UTK VolShop Bookstore or online via the Turning Technologies online store. Students can access the online store via the Turning Account registration page: http://accounts.turningtechnologies.com/ Can I have more than one clicker? A student can register more than one clicker device to their account. However, they can only use one device at a time. What if my clicker is defective? All students should contact Turning Technologies directory to report defective clicker devices. If the device is deemed defective and the student is due a replacement device, Turning Technologies will issue a notice to the student via email that the student can print and submit to the UTK VolShop Bookstore. Turning Technologies can be reached at 866-746-3015. Do I need a Turning Account? All UTK students enrolled in a course using TurningPoint Cloud for classroom polling must create a Turning Account. They must use their UTK email address. The Turning Account provides the options for polling with a clicker device and/or any web-enabled device via ResponseWare. Do I need a license to use TurningPoint Cloud? All students must have a license to create the Turning Account and to use TurningPoint Cloud. The account license also gives the student the ability to use any web-enabled device for polling via ResponseWare. How do I obtain the license? Students may obtain their Turning Account license with the purchase of a new clicker device bundled with the license or by purchasing a license only scratch off card to use with an existing clicker. The licenses are available for a 1 or 4-year duration and may be purchased from the UTK VolShop Bookstore or online via the Turning Technologies online store which is accessible via the Turning Account Registration page: http://accounts.turningtechnologies.com/ Note: If the scratch-off license code is invalid, verify if the code is entered correctly. If so, the student must return the scratch-off card to the VolShop Bookstore. Can I purchase just a license to use with my current clicker? Students may purchase a license only to use with an existing clicker. The 1- or 4-year license may be purchased as a scratch-off card from the UTK VolShop Bookstore or online via the Turning Technologies online store which is accessible via the Turning Account Registration page: http://accounts.turningtechnologies.com/ If I purchased a license last year, do I need a new license? A Turning Account license (1- or 4-years) is valid from the date of activation to the date of expiration. Students do not need to purchase a new license for the 2016-2017 academic year if they purchased a 4-year license during the 2015-2016 academic year. How can I tell if my license has expired? If a student purchased and activated a license in the past, the license will be valid from the date of activation to the date of expiration. Thus, if the student logs into their Turning Account and has a green check under license, they can click on the license to view the expiration date. If there is no checkmark, it generally indicates that the license has expired. However, the student may contact Turning Technologies at 866-746-3015 to verify. Is there a rebate with the purchase of a license? A rebate of $20.99 is available with the purchase of a bundle or the license only for the 2016- 2017 academic year. Rebates may be obtained at: rebates.turningtechnologies.com. The UTK rebate code is: Rutnk20. Can I use the Turning Account license on Canvas and is the Turning Account License good for all my classes? The Turning Account license is valid for the Canvas Learning Management Systems (LMS). Students must register a turning account license within the LMS for which their course is taught.
