Terms Of Agreement

I approve OIT technicians to work on my equipment and I agree that I will not hold the university responsible for any losses or damages incurred as a result of their work. OIT technicians will assess the situation and take action(s) as they deem necessary. I understand that all services are best effort and that OIT may not be able to resolve my issue(s). Computer support/repairs create inherent risks, and these actions could inadvertently result in damage to the equipment, or, a loss of data. I understand these risks and I fully accept all risks associated with their actions. Further, I agree that UT, as well as OIT and its employees, are not liable for any losses or damages of any kind that may result from services to my equipment.

I acknowledge that any work on my equipment could result in data loss and I accept full responsibility for backing up my data before service. I acknowledge that the university is not responsible for data loss or for the condition of the data before or after repair. I authorize OIT technicians to transfer data from my hard drive to an external storage device (external hard drive, jump drive, storage server, etc.), and, I understand that the university makes no representation regarding the legality of the data being transferred to or from the external device.

I fully understand that I am accepting all risks associated with this service including damages to the hardware, software and/or data loss. I agree that I am doing this with the consent of the owner (in most cases, myself) and I accept full responsibility if I am not the owner.
