Connecting to the UT wireless network Any UT Staff or Faculty member expecting visitors to campus may request a Sponsored Access account that will allow non-throttled wireless access by contacting the HelpDesk at 865-974-9900 or http://help.utk.edu. Non-sponsored guests may still access the ut-open network with any non-UT affiliated email address . To access the ut-open network please follow the instructions below: Choose the ut-open wireless network from the list of visible networks. Depending on your device, the next step may differ. Windows/Android Devices - Open your web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc), and you will be redirected to the "WiFi Portal" for guest/visitor wireless access. If you're not automatically redirected, navigate to http://www.utk.edu. Mac OSX/iOS Devices - Once connected to ut-open, wait for the "WiFi Portal" to automatically load. If it doesn't load after waiting 1 minute, disconnect from ut-open and then reconnect and wait. Click "Yes" if you're a student, faculty, or staff member. Click "No" if you're a guest or prospective student. If "Yes" was selected at the previous screen, follow the prompts to register the device. If the device was previously registered then no further action is needed. If "No" was selected at the previous screen then you will proceed to the login screen below. Sponsored guest should enter their crendentials in the "Sponsored Guest" section. Unsponsored guest should enter their non-UTK e-mail address to gain access. Need more help?
