Choose your Mail Client:: Gmail App (iPhone | iPad | Android)Other Mail App (IMAP/POP - Apple Mail | Windows Mail)Outlook for WindowsOutlook for macOS Gmail App *OIT recommends the Gmail App on iOS and Android devices. iOS Device (iPhone | iPad) On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app . In the top right, tap your profile picture. Tap Use another account. Choose Gmail as the type of account you want to add. Follow the steps on the screen to add your account. Android Device On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app . In the top right, tap your profile picture. Tap Add another account. Choose Gmail as the type of account you want to add. Follow the steps on the screen to add your account. Other Mail Clients (IMAP) Allow Access to Gmail for Less Secure Apps Before configuring an IMAP mail client, you will need to ensure IMAP is enabled for your account. On your computer, sign in to your UT Gmail account via a web browser. In the top right, click the Settings icon. Click Settings. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. In the "IMAP access" section, select Enable IMAP. Click Save Changes. Apple Mail Visit Apple Support for instructions. Windows Mail Visit Microsoft Support for instructions. Outlook for Windows Open OutlookYou will be prompted to add an account if this is the first time you are using the app.*If you are adding a new account to an existing profile, open Outlook and choose File>Account Settings>Account Settings>New Enter your UTK email address and click 'Advanced Options' below the email address field.Choose 'Let me set up my account manually'.Click the Connect button. Select 'Google' as the account type. Enter the Gmail IMAP server information then click Next. Authenticate to your account.Follow the prompts on the screen to enter your account information. Once the account is added, uncheck the box for 'Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too'Click OK Your account is now added and ready to use. Outlook for macOS In Outlook for Mac, go to the Outlook Menu > Preferences > Accounts. Click the + button to add a new account. For email address, enter @utk.edu and click Continue, then click Continue again. Your default browser will open the Google sign-in page. If it does not, click Sign in to Google on the setup screen. Log into your UT Google account with @utk.edu. When prompted that Microsoft apps & services wants to access your Google Account, choose Allow. If your browser prompts you to open Microsoft Outlook, choose Open. Once setup is complete, you will see that your UTK Gmail account has been added to Outlook. Click Done. Need more help?
