Search Knowledge Base: (Moved) How to Record a Presentation in PowerPoint This article has moved to the new OIT Knowledge Base. This article will be retired. Please update your bookmark. One nice feature of using PowerPoint for recording is that you can record and clear the audio from each individual slide without changing recordings on other slides. Users can view their slide notes while recording, use annotation tools, and use the camera to show their camera image at the bottom right of the screen. Navigate to the Slide Show menu and locate Record Slide Show Chose Record from Current Slide or Record from Beginning Record, stop, and replay buttons are available on the top left of the screen. To export the recording, navigate to the File menu and select Export, then Create a Video. To the right choose the video file size (we recommend the smallest or medium file size). Ensure that Use Recorded Timings and Narrations are selected. If no timings are recorded, the default will be five seconds per slide. Choose Create Video. The recording will be saved in the folder you select when creating the video. Users can upload the file to Canvas, Canvas Studio, Google Classroom, YouTube, and many other platforms. Need more help?
