How do I import my Entourage data into Outlook 2011?
Please view the System Requirements located below before installing Office 2011.
Remove “/exchange” from the Entourage server setting before performing the import. This applies to both 2004/2008
Failure to verify this setting will result in the imported account failing to work and requires removal of the Office 2011 Identity(located in Users/user/Document/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities and beginning the import process again.
Click on the Entourage menu and choose Account Settings.
Double-click your "UTK" account to open Edit Account
On the Account Settings tab, you will see a field with for Exchange Server, remove "/exchange" from this field
Now that Entourage has been prepared for the import, follow the steps below to import your Entourage data into Outlook 2011.
Install Office 2011.
In Outook, go to File, Import...
Choose Entourage information from an archive or earlier version. Click the right arrow to continue.
You can now choose from where you would like to import: Entourage Archive (.rge), Entourage 2008 (including Web Services Edition), or Entourage 2004. Click the right arrow to continue.
Select the items you want to import and click the right arrow to continue.
BE SURE you select the most current main identity to import (import doesn’t always default to most current main identity) The Date Modified field will tell you which identity is the most recent. If believe your latest identity is not in the list, you can click Browse... and search for it. Click the right arrow to continue.
You may get an error letting you know that it is going to download information from an Exchange account, click OK.
The import will now run. Click OK to finish.
**Very important** If import APPEARS to not have brought in your email, DO NOT IMPORT AGAIN. If the import fails, please follow the directions found at http://oit2.utk.edu/helpdesk/kb/entry/1834/ before importing again.
Note: There is a setting in Outlook Preferences under General that will “Hide your local folders,” uncheck this if you have folders you have been saving in “on my computer” inside Entourage and after import they do not show up in Outlook.
